Programmer Analyst Our government client Public Works and Government Services is currently seeking a temporary Programmer Analyst. Requirements • Bilingual • Secret security clearance • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience developing databases on the SQL Server platform; • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience developing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, indexes; • Must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of index optimization; • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience using DTS; • Must a minimum of 5 years experience using ERWin as a database modeling tool; • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience designing and developing desktop applications on the windows platform using Microsoft Visual Studio tools including Visual Studio Team Suite; • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience developing bilingual applications, and UI frameworks which support multilingual resourcing; • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience developing and maintaining applications using Visual Basic; • Must have 5 years experience developing .net framework applications in both vb.net and C#; • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience developing C# applications; • Must have a minimum of 2 years of WPF, XAML experience; • Must have a minimum of 2 years of.net framework v.3.5 experience; • Must have 5 years of experience developing ASP.net applications; • Must have experience using Visual Source Safe as a source code versioning tool; • Must have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel Interop applications; • Must have experience in releasing custom software packages to a production environment; • Must have a thorough understanding of UML; • Must have a thorough understanding of object-oriented languages (such as C#); • Must have a thorough understanding of testing procedures; • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills; • Experience in systems analysis and design; • Must be able to demonstrate verifiable use of all above technologies on actual real world bilingual projects. Duties • Assist with the provision of documentation for the PWGSC MITS Compliance Project; • Liaise with subject matter experts to acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of application objectives and design requirements; • Assist in development activities which may entail performing some of the following tasks: • Development of unit testing drivers and test stubs; • Development of integration test cases; • Development of system test cases; • Development of the application content (labels, prompts, error messages); • Development of the source code; • Provide production support which may entail performing some of the following tasks: • Optimize high strain database queries; • Optimize high strain application functions; • Assist with the review of the technical analysis and requirements documentation; • Assist with the review of the functional workflow documentation; • Implement the identified MITS requirements; • Develop source code documentation in the form of Class Diagrams, and standard XML style comments; • Assist in the development of the logical and physical data model for the database; • Propose, design and develop a GUI; review GUI design with BA; • Provide extracts of all application content (labels, prompts and error messages) in a format that can be easily sent for translation and re-imported into the application; • Provide basic and advanced reports identified for phase I and II; • Perform extensive system testing While enthusiastic candidates are appreciated, only those being considered will be contacted Candidates already registered with Turtle Island Staffing should contact their consultant directly
