Turtle Island Staffing is currently recruiting for Java Programmers to work on future contracts within the federal government.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
* Unilingual (English);
* Enhanced Security Clearance;
* Minimum 5 years of IT experience;
* Minimum 3 years of Java development experience;
* Significant experience in the design and development of J2EE web applications and JavaServer Pages
based upon relational database systems;
* Significant experience in the management and support of web applications based upon database
server technology;
* Significant experience in UNIX and/or Linux platforms;
* Experience with Struts and/or Spring frameworks; and
* Experience in the design and development of java port lets.

KNOWLEDGE:
* Knowledge of the Java programming language with the J2EE framework
* Knowledge of Oracle Application Server 10G and J2EE deployment
* Knowledge of relational databases (preferably Oracle), entity-relationship mapping, and SQL
* Knowledge of Web page design with HTML/XHTML, javascript and CSS
* Knowledge of LDAP queries
* Knowledge of the extensible Markup Language (XML)
* Knowledge of service-oriented architecture concepts and web service technologies such as SOAP and
WSDL
* Ability to design JavaServer Pages with XHTML, CSS and Javascript
* Ability to access databases from Java with an object-relational mapping package such as Hibernate


STATEMENT OF WORK:
* Design, develop, implement and maintain Java-based web applications:
* Design and code J2EE web applications and JavaServer Pages;
* Verify web application operation through test procedures and confirms that user requirements are
met;
* Write java code in a manner consistent with standards and methodologies;
* Analyze user requirements to determine components required for implementation, to include
methodologies for integrating the requirements into existing systems and architecture;
* Determine new database data elements needed to satisfy the user requirements and make
recommendations for their inclusion into the appropriate databases;
* Make necessary modifications to Oracle relational databases;
* Analyze the impacts on operations of any new proposed systems and modifications to existing
systems;
* Maintain java-based web applications;
* Design and code Java portlets;
* Customize the enterprise portal using the extension environment;
* Maintain themes for the enterprise portal;
* Monitor performance of operational systems;
* Solve operational problems;
* Advise and assist NRC staff on web application operations, problems and options.
